Just up the road from Glenwood Park is a little fishing spot that, until now, only the locals knew about - Dan Hale Reservoir, Like Glenwood, Dan Hale is stocked with the regular fair of Bluegill, Carp, Crappie, and Catfish. However, unlike Glenwood, it is also stocked with trout. For about $2 a day you can fish to your heart's content. The fee eliminates the need for a fishing license so you won't have to worry about the Game Warden dropping by.

Dan Hale is a serious fishing spot for serious anglers. It ain't gussied up with shelters or picnic tables or any such thing. You can bring your jon boat with a trolling motor if you want to fish out on the water, or you can just sit on the bank. You can buy bait and a can of pop if your'e thirsty but that's about all the "fixins" you're gonna get. In fact, you'll have quite a challenge just finding the place.

The reservoir is located about a mile southwest of Glenwood Park on Route 20. You'll have to look for the green "Dan Hale Reservoir" road sign and turn onto the narrow hard top road off of Rt. 20. After a short wind down hill you'll come to an intersection at which a gravel road joins the asphalt. Here you'll see the sign to the reservoir. Just follow the gravel road around and back up the hill and you'll come to the lake. Then just pay your money and pick your spot. And remember....don't tell anyone!
